In this phase, more than 16 lakh election officials are managing the voting process for over 15.88 crore eligible voters at approximately 1.67 lakh polling stations. The electorate comprises 8.08 crore male, 7.8 crore female, and 5,929 third gender voters.
There are 34.8 lakh first-time voters registered. Additionally, the 20-29 age group sees a robust 3.28 crore voters ready to cast their ballots. The contest features 1,202 candidates, including 1,098 males, 102 females, and 2 from the third gender.

For Phase 2, the electoral roll includes over 14.78 lakh voters aged 85 and above, 42,226 centenarians, and 14.7 lakh voters with disabilities (PwD). These groups have been offered the option of home voting to facilitate their participation in the election process.
The number of seats for this phase of polls includes all 20 seats in Kerala, 14 out of 28 seats in Karnataka, 13 seats in Rajasthan, 8 seats each in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, 7 seats in Madhya Pradesh, 5 seats each in Assam and Bihar, 3 seats each in Chhattisgarh and West Bengal, and 1 seat each in Manipur, Tripura, and Jammu and Kashmir.
Notable candidates in this phase include Congress party's Rahul Gandhi and Shashi Tharoor, Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, BJP's Tejasvi Surya and Hema Malini, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar's brother DK Suresh, and former Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy, among others.
