Loudspeaker ban needs uniform implementation | Loudspeaker ban controversy | The Probe Podumentary

A few days ago, the Karnataka government banned the use of loudspeakers between 10 p.m and 6 a.m. As per media reports, nearly 1.29 lakh loudspeakers were pulled down, or their decibel levels were reduced across Uttar Pradesh in the last month. These moves come amidst a raging debate across the country over the use of loudspeakers. The governments enforcing the ban say they are going by the rule book. But there’s more to this than meets the eye. The ban has split public opinion.
